I have always supported the military and was happy that my Son-in-law was serving. But they (the army) sure messed up Thanksgiving this year. My daughter and son-in-law were coming from AZ. They left on Friday afternoon and were about 2/3 of the way here. I don't know what happened, but the commander called and said they had to come back. So no Daughter and family for thanksgiving. Although our older Daughter did make it from Austin, and in the long run it was sort of nice to have each set of Grandkids seperately so we could really focus on them individually. The AZ family was here the week after Thanksgiving. Of course we all ate too much while they were all here. I made cinnamon rolls twice (once for each family) but that meant I ate them both weeks. Yummy!! But too many calories!!
It's been a long day and it's getting late so I had better shut this down and go to bed.

Going back in time, Back, Back!

Let me back up a few months and comment on why I have not posted anything to this blog for so long. I had been concentrating on posting to my stamping blog and realized that my family was getting no info from that one. So I am back and will make up for lost time.
This is what we did with half of July!

Projects for Grandma!

I guess Alicia thinks I have too much free time (and most days she would be right) so she asked me to make Lucy's Halloween costume. I haven't done much sewing for quite some time so I was not really enthusiastic about doing it. But I'm glad now that I did. It was a lot of fun and it turned out quite nice, and most of all Lucy liked it and had a lot of fun on Halloween wearing it.

Fishing vs. Stamping

Had to get up early to help Doug finish up his packing and get all ready for his fishing trip. Although I will have more days by myself I am glad he is going on this trip. I can maybe catch up on some stamping projects and besides the fish he brings back will be a nice addition to the freezer. At least it will add a little variety to the fish from the lake. Got a phone call earlier this evening to say that they had arrived at the jump off point and had all their stuff on the boat. If this is a really good deal, maybe I'll just go with him next year (ha ha, I don't think the guys would let me come).

Hard Work

Blogging is hard work. Especially when I have to learn how to do every little thing. Should be doing lots of other projects, but they don't inspire me today.
Got a little exercise this morning and then spent a few hours "working" at my actual job. That out of the way it was time for lunch and then I had to really struggle to keep going this afternoon.
Missing my family today. No one around for Father's Day thanks to Doug's job. But phone calls will have to do for our celebration.
Guess I had better get on to some of the other projects so I feel like I have accomplished something today.

It's a Beginning

I will give this a try to see if we can keep up with our family a little better by having a blog.
Our life is not very exciting so don't get your hopes up for thrilling things here.
